  • Nasi Goreng, or Fried Rice with Prawns.
  • Nasi Lemak.
  • Sotong Masak Jawa, or Javanese Squid.

    and here are some spicy recipes :-

  • Ayam Percik, or Spicy Barbecued Chicken.
  • Rendang Daging, or Rich Coconut Beef.
  • Spicy Prawns in a Sarong

    If you have difficulty finding spices locally, then I suggest that you try Penzeys Spices, which is recommended by Mike Turin, of Westport, Connecticut.

    Cooking implements, such as Pestle and Mortar, can be obtained by Mail Order, from Williams-Sonoma.
